Panevezys won and now leads the tournament standings, beating "Kaunas" by 18 points, despite playing two games less. Disappointingly, "Atlantas" exited the UEFA Cup and failed to recover at home, losing to "Vetra" and extending their crisis. In the 29th minute, visitors from the capital were led forward by G. Butrimavicius, and although the first half ended in a draw thanks to a precise shot by R. Zvingilas, Butrimavicius scored again at the beginning of the second half, soon followed by R. Vaneikis. In the remaining part of the match, "Vetra" held on and achieved their third consecutive victory, solidifying their position in third place, leading "Suduva" by five points in the tournament standings. Meanwhile, "Atlantas", who have only won twice in the last ten matches, including in the UEFA Cup, dropped to sixth place.
