On Thursday, one of the postponed weekend matches of the Lithuanian "A Lyga" championship took place in Marijampolė, where the local team "Sūduva" met "Šiauliai" and ended the game with a goalless draw.

For "Sūduva" fighting for the third place, these matches, in which A.Veikutis returned to the squad after a review abroad, were the first after a long break - the Marijampolė team fought at home against "Šiauliai", who are currently playing poorly this season and are in the second to last position in the league.
In the rain-soaked field, the hosts took the initiative, while the guests retreated to defense and based their game on counterattacks. In one of them, at the beginning of the match, "Sūduva's" goal was saved only by the crossbar, while in the other dangerous were the head shots of O.Braga, attempts from distance by M.Ūselis and D.Čigladzė.
In the second half of the match, "Šiauliai" had another opportunity, but missed the target, while "Sūduva" continued to not take advantage of their territorial dominance, failing to score a goal. The match ended in a goalless draw.
After these matches, "Sūduva" only got one point closer to the third-placed Vilnius "Vėtra", which has played one game less, so on Saturday they will face the league leaders Panevėžio "Ekranas".
In the other matches of the 22nd round of the "A Lyga" on Saturday, Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis" will host the team from Vilnius, "Šilutė" will play against "Kaunas", and on Sunday Vilnius "Žalgiris" will face Klaipėda's "Atlantas" in the capital.
