In Spain, reports have emerged that after the UEFA Champions League semi-final with E. Jankausko's club, La Coruña should announce the extension of the contract with the team's coach Javier Irureta.
The current coach's contract is set to expire this summer and for several weeks now there has been talk in Spain about a possible contract extension. Earlier it was thought that the coach would extend the contract for two years, but now it is said that this coach, who led "Deportivo" to the Champions League semi-finals, will extend the contract for one year.
Irureta's agent Miguel Santos said: "Jabo (J. Irureta's nickname - ed. note) has proven that he can train any team and it's no wonder that more than one club is interested in him. However, Javier is a gentleman - he is loyal to "Deportivo". Someday he will have to leave La Coruña, but for now I only see him at the helm of "Deportivo"."
