Recently fallen to the middle of the table in the tournament "A Lyga", Klaipėda's "Atlantas" interrupted their unsuccessful streak for a while - the club from the port city defeated local "Žalgiris" in Vilnius on Sunday.

Vilnius "Žalgiris" stadium, 100 spectators

Referee - Gediminas Mažeika

0 - 1

11' [0 - 1] Aivaras Laurišas

82' Mirijan Choruži ("Žalgiris") was sent off the field

"Žalgiris": Malinauskas; Paknys (71' Dovkša), Gražiūnas, Mikuckis, Stonkus; Maksimovič (46' Jokšas), Lemežis, Jasaitis, Choruži; Kaušpadas (46' Osipovič), Morinas

"Atlantas": Valius; Regelskis, Užkuraitis, Žernys, Navikas (81' Ringys); Petreikis (55' Grigaitis), Bartkus, Bezykornovas, Kšanavičius (46' Žvingilas); Puotkalis, Laurišas

Having won only once in the last five matches, Klaipėda's "Atlantas" met the home team at the "Žalgiris" stadium, which, despite performing successfully in European competitions, does not shine in "A Lyga" this year.

It seems that fatigue after the Intertoto Cup matches took its toll - "Atlantas" secured a minimal victory on the road thanks to the only goal of A. Laurišas in the 11th minute, so "Žalgiris" failed to add to their points tally and remains in eighth place.

The next round of "A Lyga" will be played on August 12-13. On Friday, "Šilutė" will play against "Vilnius", "Žalgiris" will face "Kaunas", "Nevėžis" will meet "Sūduva", and on Saturday "Vėtra" will have "Šiauliai" as their opponent.
