On Wednesday, another ten first-leg matches of the third round of UEFA Champions League qualifying were played. Only the clubs "Inter" and "Liverpool" can feel calm after achieving quite convincing victories away from home.
In their away match, the "Inter" team triumphed 0-2 against the determined "Shakhtar" footballers. The Milan club had several good opportunities at the beginning of the match, but they only scored the first goal in the 68th minute. Ten minutes later, Adriano, who played excellently throughout the match, doubled the score and helped the "Inter" team secure an important victory on the road.

Meanwhile, the defending UEFA Champions League title holders, the "Liverpool" club, beat Sofia's "CSKA" 1-3 in the opponent's field, gaining a solid advantage for the second leg. One goal was scored by D.Cisse, and two were added by the Spaniard F.Morientes.
Belgium's vice-champions, "Anderlecht," won 2-1 at home against Prague's "Slavia," but they still have to fight hard in the second leg in the Czech Republic to advance to the main Champions League tournament.
Vienna's strongest team, "Rapid," ended the first leg with Moscow's "Lokomotiv" in a 1-1 draw. The match between Bucharest's "Steaua" and "Rosenborg" also ended in the same result.
Unfortunately, Amsterdam's "Ajax" club let go of an almost secured victory in the last minutes of the match. The second-placed team in the Dutch league, "Ajax," played 2-2 away against the local "Brondby" club. The Amsterdam team was leading 1-2, however, in injury time, "Ajax" defender J.Escude scored an own goal, saving "Brondby" from defeat.
Bratislava's "Artmedia" club, after sensationally eliminating the "Celtic" team in the previous round, this time played a goalless draw against Belgrade's "Partizan" club.
