3rd round: Another "Dunfermline" loss © EuroFootball.com

In the "Premier League" of Scotland, the third round started on Saturday. After a short crisis recovery, Glasgow "Celtic" temporarily became the championship leader, "Motherwell" experienced their first failure, "Dunfermline" with A.Skerla lost again, and Edinburgh "Hibernian" achieved their first season victory.

"Celtic" played at home against league newcomer "Falkirk", whom they had crushed 8-1 in the Scottish Cup last year. Despite that, the visitors surprisingly took the lead in the 39th minute - M.Camara brought down S.Thomson in the penalty area, and D.Duffy converted the penalty kick.

However, in the second half, the Glasgow club broke down the opponents - J.Hartson equalized with a header in the 49th minute, A.Thompson scored the 75th goal with a precise attempt from the penalty area, and later sealed the victory with a penalty kick.

"Dunfermline", with Lithuanian A.Skerla returning to the starting lineup in place of the disqualified S.Wilson, missed several opportunities to score, and L.Fox's goal in the 42nd minute secured a win for the away team "Inverness CT", which now shares 4-5 places with "Kilmarnock".

After the devastating defeat in the Edinburgh derby, the "Hibernian" team managed to recover, easily defeating the league's bottom team "Livingston" at home with a score of 3-0. The latter club remains the only one in the championship so far without a point.

In the other two matches of the 3rd round on Sunday, the Scottish Cup winner "Dundee Utd" will host the "Hearts" team at home, while the defending champions "Rangers" will play away against "Aberdeen".
