Ambitious newcomer of the Turkish Super League Manisas "Manisaspor" will have a world champion in his team for the upcoming season - the club managed to rent Brazilian national team defender Denilson from the Sevilla team.
27-year-old Denilson, who won the World Cup with his Brazilian teammates in 2002, and has represented his country's national team a total of 61 times, belonged to the "Betis" club since 1998, when he transferred from "Sao Paulo" for a then-record sum of 32 million euros.
Denilson, famous for his unmatched ball control technique, played for Brazil's "Flamengo" team for a year when Betis dropped to the second division in Spain during the 2000/01 season, but upon returning to Seville, he failed to live up to the huge expectations placed on him, although he was predicted to have a bright future as a true superstar.
"We are very pleased that such a world-class player as Denilson is coming to Manisa. The contract also includes a clause that allows us to loan him again next season. He will soon arrive in our city," said Manisaspor representative Kenan Yarali.
