On Saturday, eight matches of the 4th round of the French "Ligue 1" championship were played. The remaining two round matches will be played on Sunday evening.
Perhaps the most impressive match of the round took place in Lane, where the local team "Lens" defeated "Auxerre" players by a whopping 7-0. Daniel Cousin, Olivier Thomert, and Jussie Ferreira each scored two goals for the winners.
Another disappointment in these championships was experienced by the struggling "Marseille" team. This time, after a fierce battle, Marseille's club was forced to admit the superiority of "Rennes" with a result of 3-2. The defending champions "Lyon" achieved a tough victory, managing to defeat the newcomer "Nancy" only at the very end of the match. The only goal of the match was scored by Claudio Caçapa in the last minute of the game.
Meanwhile, another defeat, the second one this year, was suffered by the "Monaco" club. The principality's team was this time forced to admit the superiority of the currently solidly performing "Bordeaux" with a 1-0 result. It is worth mentioning that this match was marked by a abundance of yellow cards - a total of seven were shown.
