And the German football championship continues. On Saturday, seven matches of the third round were played in the Bundesliga, after which only one team remained in the league that has not lost points this season - defending champions Bayern Munich.

Bayern defeated Hertha 3-0 at home. The first goal was scored by the Munich team at the beginning of the second half - German M. Ballack sent the ball into the net from about 18 meters. Five minutes before the end of the match, Munich secured their victory through M. Scholl, and a few minutes later, striker R. Makaay sealed the fate of the Hertha team. By the way, this was already Makaay's sixth goal this season.

The first victory was won by the Bundesliga newcomer Eintracht. In a duel of underdogs, the Frankfurt club, supported by 40 thousand fans, defeated Nurnberg 1-0 at home, giving the fans a long-awaited victory. The only, and as it later turned out, decisive goal of the match was scored by Eintracht player J. Jones.

Other league newcomers, Koln's footballers, had a much worse match. After winning the first two matches of the season, the Koln club had to admit the superiority of the Kaiserslautern team at home this time. The visitors took the lead in the 19th minute after a precise shot by H. Altintop.

Later, Kaiserslautern had a couple more chances, but Koln's goalkeeper S. Wessels saved his team from conceding a goal. Nevertheless, the visitors managed to score again - in the 79th minute, Altintop scored his second goal in this match after a defensive error by Koln.

Koln did not give up and managed to equalize in nine minutes, but the Kaiserslautern players scored a point in this match - in extra time, Koln defender C. Springer brought down an opponent in the penalty area, E. Skela successfully converted the penalty from eleven meters, and Kaiserslautern snatched a victory with a score of 2-3.

Thiam scored another goal, helping Wolfsburg to secure a hard-fought victory. By the way, two Bayer players were sent off in the second half.

Schalke lost their first points of the season. The Gelsenkirchen team played 1-1 at home against Gladbach. Schalke had the first chance to score, but the fantastic reaction of Gladbach goalkeeper K. Keller saved his team from conceding a goal. After playing for about half an hour, Schalke had another good opportunity, but this time E. Sand failed to convert.

Soon after, Gladbach players took advantage of a created opportunity and in the 41st minute, broke the deadlock - after a shot by O. Neuville from the edge of the penalty area, the Schalke goalkeeper deflected the ball straight in front of the goal, and Gladbach defender K. Bøgelund sent the ball into the top corner of the net with a powerful shot from 18 meters.

Despite conceding a goal, Schalke continued to dominate the field and in the 54th minute, managed to equalize - E. Sand headed the ball into the visitors' goal. In the remaining time, the hosts had several more chances, but could not score the winning goal.

It was not a very successful weekend for the Werder club. Recently securing a place in the Champions League, Bremen players played 1-1 at home against Stuttgart, who are still without a win. The hosts took the lead after I. Klasnić's goal in the 41st minute, but J. D. Tomasson equalized at the beginning of the second half.
