Beckham passed the ball to Robinho on the edge of the penalty area, who chested the ball and passed it to Ronaldo, who found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper but instead of scoring, he passed the ball to Raul who had an easy task of scoring from about 5 meters into an empty goal. In extra time, "Real" had a chance to increase their lead - Robinho deceived three "Cadiz" defenders in the penalty area, passed the ball to I.Helguera, but his shot hit the crossbar. The match ended with a score of 1-2.
In other Sunday matches, the "Deportivo" footballers who were eliminated from European tournaments defeated "Mallorca" away after Juanma's only goal. A surprise was provided by "Getafe", who defeated the successful "Espanyol" club 0-2 away. "Osasuna" won at home against the "Villarreal" team that qualified for the Champions League, while "Zaragoza" unexpectedly held out against "Atletico".
The league newcomer "Celta" started the season with a victory - they defeated the "Malaga" footballers 2-0, while "Sevilla" defeated the "Racing" team by a minimal score.
