On Sunday, during the Russian "Premier" League match against Saint Petersburg's "Zenit" club in Samara, Lithuanian national team player Nerijus Barasa broke his leg and will not be able to play for about two months.

The Lithuanian appeared on the field in the second half of the away match against Zenit, but after playing for just 15 minutes, he suffered an injury and had to be substituted. After the game, he was taken to a hospital in Saint Petersburg accompanied by the team's forward R.Poškus. There, the footballer was diagnosed with a leg fracture and had a cast put on.

Due to this injury, he will miss the World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of September, and most likely will not be able to help our national team in the rest of the qualifying campaign.

This is another setback for the Lithuanian national team, as defenders T.Žvirgždauskas and M.Stankevičius as well as forwards T.Danilevičius and R.Poškus will also not be able to play against Serbia due to yellow card suspensions.
