Lithuania's national team coach Algimantas Liubinskas announced the starting lineup for the important World Cup qualifying match against the national teams of Serbia and Montenegro, which will begin at 21:30 local time, with Danish referee Kim Milton Nielsen officiating.

In this crucial match, Lithuania cannot afford to lose, but it will not be easy, as both Serbia and Montenegro need a victory to compete for the top spot in the group. According to Lithuanian betting companies, the odds are not in Lithuania's favor - betting on a Lithuanian win could earn you 8 to 10 times more, for a draw 4-5 times more, while betting on a Serbian win won't yield much profit.

Due to disqualifications, Lithuania will be without defenders M.Stankevičius and T.Žvirgždauskas, as well as forwards T.Danilevičius and R.Poškus, while the versatile N.Barasa is sidelined with an injury. Comparing the lineup announced by A.Liubinskas to the previous match against Spain, A.Skarbalius will replace Žvirgždauskas, and G.Paulauskas will replace M.Stankevičius. The defensive duo of Skerla and Džiaukštas will remain in the midfield.

In place of the injured N.Barasa in the center, A.Preikšaitis will play, supported by the return of D.Šemberas. On the left side, as usual, will be E.Česnauskis, while on the right side, either D.Česnauskis or S.Mikoliūnas from "Hearts" will play, with one likely moving to the center to support the lone forward E.Jankauskas.
