Today, on Tuesday, Lithuania's youth national team (up to 21 years old) meets the youth national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Championship qualifying match, which lost in the first match by 0-2 score.
This time the match will start at 19:00 in Kaunas, at the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium - ticket price is 5 litas. Those who cannot come to support the Lithuanians at the stadium will be able to watch the live broadcast of the match on Tango TV.
According to the head coach of the youth national team, Vitalijus Stankevičius, it is very difficult to rebuild the team after the matches with the youth national team of Serbia Montenegro, as well as after the accident the Lithuanian footballers were involved in.
"If all the players were healthy and able to play after the accident in Serbia, the line-up for today's match would be different. I talked to Mindaugas Malinauskas. According to him, he can play today. In my opinion, Malinauskas is Malinauskas and that is why we, along with the coaching staff, are happy that he will be in goal today," announced V. Stankevičius.
According to the coach, after the return of A.Rimkevičius from disqualification and the emergence of new opportunities in attack, he is preparing to change the playing scheme: "In Serbia we played in a 4-5-1 model, today we will play in a 4-4-2 model. We are playing at home, the goal of today's match is to win."
V. Stankevičius has also announced the starting line-up of players for today's match against Bosnia. Apart from A.Rimkevičius, there will be several forced changes in the team compared to the match against the Serbs - due to back pain, V.Kavaliauskas will not play, after the accident, T.Mikuckis, M.Panka, G.Tomkevičius, D.Šernas, Š.Kilijonas will be absent, so D.Navikas, P.Grybauskas, P.Šarūnas, V.Slavickas will be invited instead.
