In the "A Lyga" championship in Lithuania, teams have played about two-thirds of the matches - the third round will soon end, and the final, fourth round matches will begin. The official championship website has selected exclusive statistics and interesting facts from this season.

The most goals (eight) in a single match in the 2005 Lithuanian football A Lyga championship were scored by Panevezys "Ekranas" and FBK "Kaunas". Panevezys scored that many times on June 11th against Vilnius "Vetra", while Kaunas did it on May 14th against Kėdainiai "Nevezis".

During a match - four goals. This season's productivity record in the "A Lyga" belongs to Marijampole's "Suduva" forward Tomas Radzinevicius. The Marijampole player excelled on August 12th in Kaunas, when he struck the "Nevezis" goalkeeper Tautvydas Jazokas into despair.

Three footballers managed to score three goals each during matches. "Kaunas" forward Ricardas Beniusis did it on April 12th in a match against "Siauliai" in Kaunas, "Ekranas" forward Povilas Luksys excelled on June 11th in Panevezys against "Vetra", while "Ekranas" captain Mantas Savenas on August 20th sent three goals into the Vilnius "Zalgiris" net.

The longest winning streak can be boasted by "Ekranas". The championship leader won all nine matches of the first round.

The longest losing streak belongs to "Nevezis". The Kėdainiai team did not earn a single point in eight matches.

For six matches in a row, the gates of "Ekranas" seemed closed to opponents. Panevezys did not concede a goal for 540 minutes.

The championship outsiders from Kėdainiai couldn't score a goal for seven matches in a row (from the sixth to the thirteenth round).

Three teams in the "A Lyga" have brothers playing. 29-year-old twins Arturas and Igoris Steško represent "Vetra" in defensive positions. Another pair of twins wear the jerseys of "Siauliai" - 19-year-old defender Nerijus and midfielder Aurimas Garuckai, who recently started training with the main "Siauliai" team, having previously played for the reserves.

Meanwhile, the "Suduva" club includes brothers from Georgia David and Besikas Chigladze. 21-year-old David has been representing the Suvalkiai team for the second season, while his two years older brother Besikas signed a contract with "Suduva" only in the middle of this summer. Both Georgians are defenders.
