Today, on Wednesday, at the Vilnius "Vėtra" stadium, the Lithuanian national team will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina's national team in the World Cup qualification match. The match starts at 20:00 and will be broadcasted live on TV3.

For the Lithuanians, it is necessary to win these matches, as without them, even the slightest hopes of qualifying for the 2006 World Cup final tournament in Germany will most likely collapse. Meanwhile, a victory would revive those hopes and bring them closer to the group leaders - Serbia and Spain, who will face each other today.

A couple of hours before the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the preliminary starting lineup of the national team was revealed. Defenders T.Žvirgždauskas and M.Stankevičius will return to the team after suspensions, with A.Skerla being unable to play this time due to receiving a second yellow card, and G.Paulauskas will replace him, and attackers T.Danilevičius and R.Poškus will also join the lineup.

R.Poškus will take S.Mikoliūnas's place in the lineup, but unlike his teammate, he will play in his usual position in the attack. The only question mark remains regarding E.Jankauskas, who suffered an injury before the match against Serbia. If he cannot take the field, forward M.Savėnas will replace him. In that case, there will likely be a tactical rearrangement - T.Danilevičius will move to E.Jankauskas's position in the attack, and M.Savėnas will play as an attacking midfielder.
