On Saturday, eight matches of the 6th round of the French "Ligue 1" championship were played. Two more matches will be played on Sunday evening.

The central match of the round took place in Lyon, where the local team Lyon hosted the Monaco team. In a tense match, the home team celebrated a 2-1 victory. It is worth mentioning that both goals for Lyon were scored by the newcomer from Brazil, Fred.

After a devastating loss in the previous round (6-0 against Nancy), Rennes seems to have recovered as they defeated Auxerre 3-1 at home. Youssef Hadji scored two goals for the winners.

Another victory was secured by the Lyon team, who continue to soar over the Paris Saint Germain team. This time, the Paris club narrowly defeated the Strasbourg team 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by the newcomer to the team, Bonaventure Kalou.

The newcomer Le Mans continues to successfully compete. In this round, Le Mans defeated the Toulouse team 2-0 away, temporarily rising to third place in the standings.

This round also went well for another newcomer, Troyes, who defeated the resistance of the Nantes team at home with a goal in the last minute by Sebastien Grax.
