On Tuesday evening, in two postponed 21st and 20th rounds of the NFKA "A Lyga" matches, there were no surprises - the multiple Lithuanian champion "Kaunas" and Vilnius "Vėtra", fighting for the third place, secured victories by defeating Marijampolė's "Sūduva" and Vilnius "Žalgiris", respectively.

In the matches held in Kaunas, the team from Marijampolė, who has been demonstrating impressive form recently, took the lead first when the attacker Tomas Radzinevičius scored a goal for "Sūduva". However, "Kaunas" showed their superiority: in the first half, the Polish player A. Klimekas equalized the score, and in the second half, goals from G. Barevičius and the legionnaire from Bosnia and Herzegovina E. Pehličius helped secure the victory. This win allowed "Kaunas" to reduce the gap from the leader "Ekranas" to 10 points.

This was the first defeat for "Sūduva" after eight consecutive winless matches. Interestingly, the scorer for Marijampolė, T. Radzinevičius, is tied in the list of top scorers with the captain of Panevėžys "Ekranas" M. Savėnas, both with 18 goals. After the match, both teams' coaches stated that the first goal of "Kaunas" had a significant impact on the outcome of the game.
