Round 4: "Serie A" favorites secured victories © EuroFootball.com

On Wednesday, in the Italian championship, there were ten matches of the 4th round, in which no big surprises were recorded - the hosts and guests each divided four victories, and two matches ended in a draw. Champions Turin's "Juventus" continued their 100% record, winning against "Udinese" away in an important match. The minimal victory for the defending champions was brought by a goal scored by Frenchman P. Vieira in the first half after a pass from A. Del Piero. Milan's "Inter" won their second consecutive match, successfully playing away against "Chievo". The black and blues scored a goal with a header from defender W. Samuel, who returned to the team after three matches of suspension. "Milan" managed to recover after a poor start to the season and defeated Roma's "Lazio" club at home by a two-goal margin. Ukrainian A. Shevchenko and Brazilian Kaka scored goals in the first three minutes of the match. In the match in the capital of Italy, "Roma" crushed "Parma" with a score of 4-1. The capital club is starting to show quality gameplay that the team's fans missed at the beginning of the season. This was the first victory of the "Roma" team at home in the league in the last seven months. Meanwhile, in another match, "Fiorentina" managed to defeat "Lecce", although the latter led after a successful penalty kick by A. Pinardi in the first half. However, in the second half, Florence's team reversed the game and celebrated victory after scoring three goals. The main attacking trio of the winners - S. Fiore, V. Bojinov, and L. Toni - stood out. The "Treviso" club lost at home to "Sampdoria" and still cannot boast even one point. "Sampdoria" secured their third victory of the season with two goals from E. Bonazzoli, scored at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second. Playing at home, Palermo beat Reggina by a modest score of 1-0. The guests held out until the 66th minute, but then a player from Palermo, A. Barzagli, sent the ball into the net with a decisive shot. The only unexpected result was recorded in the match between "Empoli" and "Cagliari". The Sardinian team, seen as favorites, poorly played in defense and lost away to the league newcomer by a score of 1-3. In another match, "Ascoli" hosted "Siena" and finished the match with a draw of 1-1. Interestingly, at the end of the first half, a hole of at least a meter long appeared on the pitch, but the visitors immediately took advantage and surged ahead within ten minutes. However, after the break, the hosts recovered and scored a goal to equalize. The match between "Messina" and "Livorno" was the only one in this round that ended without goals. Although both teams had several great opportunities to score, the players of both teams failed to capitalize on their chances.
