The player of Vilnius "Žalgiris" team will have reason to believe that the thirteenth day of the month is unlucky. On September 13 during a match of the Lithuanian football "A Lyga" championship in Vilnius against Marijampolė's "Sūduva," he suffered an injury and did not finish the game.
"There were suspicions that the cruciate ligaments were torn. Today I went to the doctor, who performed an MRI scan and determined that the cruciate ligaments were not torn. It turned out that the meniscus was damaged," said the 21-year-old "Žalgiris" defender to the official website of "A Lyga."
P.Paknys stated that his season has already ended. "I may not need surgery on the meniscus. Doctors recommended me not to risk going back on the field this season. I need to keep my leg in a state of rest for three weeks. Now I can only walk with crutches," explained Paulius.
The footballer said that he feels better every day. "At first, it was really bad, I couldn't even walk," said the Žalgiris player.
This year, P. Paknys represented "Žalgiris" 15 times in the A Lyga championship, but he failed to score any goals.
