On Thursday in Spain, Real Madrid celebrated their victory in the only match of the fourth round of "La Liga" against the club from Bilbao.

The Royal club, having previously suffered three consecutive defeats (against Celta Vigo, Lyon, and Espanyol), managed to bounce back after conceding an own goal and secured a 3-1 victory while playing with ten men. The team captain Raul scored two goals for the winners, newcomer Brazilian Robinho added one, and the Englishman J. Woodgate had a particularly unsuccessful debut in the club, scoring an own goal and receiving a red card.

For Englishman Jonathan Woodgate, the match against Athletic Bilbao was his first in 17 months. The defender could not have imagined such an unsuccessful debut in the ranks of Real Madrid: by the 25th minute of the game, while trying to clear a cross from Joseba Etxeberrio, the Englishman scored an own goal, and in the second half, for a foul against the same J. Etxeberrio, Woodgate received a second yellow card and was forced to leave the field.

After four rounds, Real Madrid occupies the fifth place in the league table with 2 wins and 2 losses.
