On Saturday, eight matches of the French football championship "Ligue 1" 9th round were played. The remaining two games will be played on Sunday evening.
In the championship, the defending title-holder "Lyon" club continues to lead. The Lyon team maintained the first position despite playing one game less than their closest pursuers.
The capital's "P.S.G" club had the opportunity to temporarily surpass the leading team, but the Parisians failed to defeat "Le Mans" club, which competes successfully this season.
"Bordeaux" and "Auxerre" took advantage of this stumble by "P.S.G", defeating their opponents and reducing the gap from the capital team to a minimum. Currently, "Bordeaux" and "Auxerre" hold the 3rd and 4th positions on the championship table respectively.
Finally, the struggling "Marseille" club earned a confident victory. Marseille's players defeated the underdog "Metz" 3-1 on their home ground, rising to the 12th position and surpassing another well-known French club "Monaco".
Last week, the latter experienced a change of coaches but still struggle to get out of the crisis and continue to drop points. This time, "Monaco" played a goalless draw with "Nice" and holds the 13th position in the "Ligue 1" championship table with 11 points.
