"Bayern" - the defending champions from Munich suffered their first defeat after winning fifteen games in a row (9 at the end of the 2004/05 season and 6 matches this season) against Hamburg.

This season, the ambitious and strong playing Hamburg players took the lead in the 10th minute after an goal by R. van der Vaart. "Bayern" tried to equalize the score, but they failed to create a threat towards Hamburg's goal. After about an hour of play, the second goal fell into the visitor's net - after a counter-attack, former Bayern youth academy player P. Trochowski defeated O. Kahn. The match ended with a score of 2-0, Hamburg achieved their fifth victory this season and now trails Bayern by just one point.

"Werder" club also achieved their fifth victory this season by defeating Bayer 2-1. "Werder" took the lead first when M. Klose scored early in the second half, but Leverkusen guests did not give up and soon equalized. However, in the 77th minute, "Werder" forward I. Klasnic scored his second goal, sealing the end of the match. After the victory, "Werder" continues in third place, trailing the leading Bayern club by two points.

The long-awaited victory in front of their audience came to Schalke players who defeated Hannover 2-0 at home. The winners were marked by Lincoln and K. Kuranyi. The last time the Schalke club won at their stadium was about two months ago.

Bundesliga newcomers "Duisburg" claimed an important victory at home by beating Nurnberg with a minimal result. The only goal that brought victory to Duisburg was scored by M. Kurth. Worth mentioning is that this was the first victory of Duisburg players this season, after which they jumped from the bottom position to fourteenth.

Both Sunday matches ended with the same results - "Hertha" defeated the league newcomers "Koln" 1-0 as guests, while the crisis-stricken "Stuttgart" managed to beat "Kaiserslautern" at home with the same result. By the way, this was already the third failure for "Kaiserslautern" in the last four matches.
