Round 10: "P.S.G" is approaching the leader © EuroFootball.com

On Saturday, four matches of the French "Ligue 1" championship 10th round were played. The remaining six games will take place on Sunday.

Currently sitting in second place in the standings, Paris "P.S.G" secured a solid victory in this round, beating "Nantes" 2-0 at home. "P.S.G" took the lead in the 67th minute after Mario Yepes' goal. Just seven minutes later, "Nantes" goalkeeper was beaten by Pedro Pauleta, who has been demonstrating excellent performance this year and is currently leading the list of top scorers. It is worth noting that from the 47th minute, "P.S.G" had to play with ten men, as Edouard Cisse was sent off with a second yellow card. However, in the 87th minute, the opponent's player David Leray was also sent off with the same punishment.

Closest pursuers of "P.S.G," "Bordeaux" managed to snatch a victory against the absolute bottom team "Metz" after a tough battle. The only goal of the match was scored by Fernando at the beginning of the second half. After this victory, Bordeaux club remains in third place in the standings and is only 1 point behind "P.S.G."

"Saint-Etienne" team temporarily rose to the 4th position after Saturday's matches, crushing the previously decent-playing newcomer "Le Mans" 3-0 at home. Another newcomer, "Nancy," is also surprising - after a very unsuccessful start to the championship, Nancy club is now climbing the standings rapidly with one victory after another. By defeating "Sochaux" 2-0, "Nancy" with four wins and 13 points rose to the 9th position from 16th. It is worth mentioning that both goals against "Sochaux" were scored by "Nancy" in the last two minutes of the match.
