Bundesliga: Seventh "Bayern" victory © EuroFootball.com

And the German football championship continues. On Saturday, seven matches of the eighth round were played in the Bundesliga. The hosts secured three victories, the guests won two matches, and the remaining two ended in a draw. Interestingly, only one club managed to win by a margin greater than one goal.

The defending champions, Bayern Munich, returned to the path of victories by defeating Wolfsburg 2-0 at home. Forward R.S. Cruz and Brazilian defender Lucio scored goals for the Munich team in the second half. This was Bayern's seventh win of the season, which kept them in the first place.

The league vice-champions, Schalke's footballers, also secured a victory by defeating Eintracht with a minimal advantage in their away match. Schalke's victory came from a single goal by forward S. Larsen in the 64th minute. By the way, this was the seventh goal scored by Larsen, who was acquired just before the new season: he scored four times in the Bundesliga, twice in the German Cup, and once in the UEFA Champions League.

The capital's club, Hertha, suffered a disappointing defeat at home, losing 1-2 to Bremen's Werder. Despite taking the lead from the beginning of the second half, Hertha conceded two goals in the last five minutes, handing the victory to Werder. After the loss, Hertha dropped to sixth place in the league, while Werder climbed to second place, trailing Bayern by two points.

The club Nurnberg secured their first victory of the season by defeating the Bundesliga newcomers Koln 2-1 at home. The Bundesliga newcomers Duisburg played a 1-1 draw against Hannover in an away match.
