This season, Klaipėda, which is performing poorly in the Lithuanian "A lyga" championship, decided to part ways with two players. The port city club released 28-year-old Audrius Kšanavičius and Andrius Puotkalis, who will celebrate his 25th birthday tomorrow. "We invited these footballers when we were in difficulty, the team was going through a crisis. I hoped that they would help 'Atlantas', but I was wrong. A.Kšanavičius and A.Puotkalis are in poor athletic shape, they did not give the team what was expected of them. Therefore, we said goodbye to the footballers," said Vacys Lekevičius, the director and head coach of "Atlantas", to the official "A lyga" website. According to him, the people of Klaipėda are already thinking about the next season. "This season was one of the worst for our team. Now we have already started preparing for the next season. 'Atlantas' has many young players, we need to let them play," said V. Lekevičius. A.Kšanavičius and A.Puotkalis started the 2005 championship in the team "Kaunas". Representing the champions of the country, A.Puotkalis scored two goals in the "A lyga" championship and wore the "Kaunas" jersey until mid-July, later moving to "Atlantas". Playing for the Klaipėda team, the forward did not manage to disarm the opponents' goalkeepers even once. Meanwhile, A.Kšanavičius moved from "Kaunas" to the port city team at the beginning of July. He scored one goal for "Atlantas".
