After playing the qualifying matches on Saturday, five teams were determined, which will participate in the World Cup next year in Germany.

Four out of the five teams - Angola, Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Togo - will make their debut in the World Cup, while for the Tunisian national team, who won the fifth qualifying group after dramatic matches with Morocco, this will be the fourth time and the third in a row that they participate in the World Cup. However, the only victory the Tunisian footballers have achieved in the World Cup was 27 years ago.

The Togo national team secured a victory of 3-2 against the Congo national team, despite trailing in that match. In the first group, they finished in first place, with two more points than Senegal, who defeated Mali 3-0 in the last match.

Although the Ghana national team only needed a draw in their last match, they defeated the Cape Verde national team 4-0 and became the winners of the second group.

The Angolan national team secured a victory away from home against Rwanda, guaranteeing a spot in the World Cup. Although they collected the same number of points as the Nigerian footballers, who won 5-1 against Zimbabwe, constant participants in the last three World Cups, the Angolan footballers took a higher position due to a better head-to-head result.

A 3-1 victory away from home against Sudan allowed the Ivory Coast national team to clinch the first place in the group. Coming in second were the Cameroonian footballers, who participated in the last four World Cups, but lost the opportunity only to blame themselves: they failed to maintain a one-goal lead at home and had to settle for a draw against the Egyptian footballers.
