On Thursday, FIFA announced the list of thirty players who are contenders for the Player of the Year title, in which a significant portion are Brazilians.

The list includes seven current World champions: three "Real" stars: Robinho, Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo, last year's best player Ronaldinho from "Barcelona", Inter Milan striker Adriano, and two Milan players - Cafu and Kaka.

Four representatives in the list are from England. Contenders for the title include Madrid's "Real" defender and England's national team captain David Beckham, London's "Chelsea" Frank Lampard, "Liverpool" leader Steven Gerrard, and "Man Utd" forward Wayne Rooney.

The list also includes four Africans, among which stand out Ivory Coast national team star Didier Drogba and the new "Chelsea" defender Michael Essien.

It is worth noting that out of the thirty players in the list, only five are debutants: Robinho, M.Essienas, J.R.Riquelme, A.Robbenas, and Jay-Jay Okocha.

The winner of the Player of the Year title will be announced on December 19th.
