Italian national team and Serie A champions Turin's "Juventus" right-back Mauro Camoranesi has decided to extend his contract with the club for two more years. His new contract will be valid until 2009.
The 29-year-old M. Camoranesi arrived at "Juventus" from the "Hellas Verona" team in 2002 and in three years, playing 98 games and scoring 13 goals, helped his team become the national champions twice. This season, the player started excellently with the team by winning all six matches in the Italian championship and two in the Champions League.
Camoranesi, born in Argentina, who at the beginning of his career played for "Montevideo", "Banfield" and "Cruz Azul" clubs, caused a lot of controversy two years ago by choosing to represent not his native country, but the Italian national team. However, the footballer seems to have made the right decision - he managed to establish himself in the team and become a permanent member.
