The star of the team Pavel Nedved spoke about a possible return to the Czech national team to help them in two qualifying matches for the 2006 World Cup in Germany against Norway.
Just 13 months after announcing the end of his international career due to the heavy workload, P. Nedved talked about a possible comeback to an Italian television.
"No one has called me yet," said the best European player of 2003. "But if they called and invited me, I would seriously consider the offer."
"The return would be only for two matches, but I would be very happy to help my country," said the Czech.
The 33-year-old midfielder ended his international career after the defeat in the semi-finals of the 2004 European Championship in Portugal against the eventual champions, the Greeks. Nedved left the field on crutches in that match, as he suffered a knee injury.
