Edinburgh team can soon be supplemented by another foreign legionnaire. Former German national team forward Fredi Bobic arrived for a tryout with the Scottish Premier League leaders.
The 34-year-old veteran arrived in Great Britain on Monday and started training with the new club. This summer, after his contract expired, the footballer left the highest Bundesliga club in Germany and has not been able to find a new team so far. Nevertheless, the German believes he can impress the coaches of the team controlled by Lithuanian Vladimir Romanov.
"I think I can positively contribute to the team's training, and then everything will be decided by the Hearts leaders," said F. Bobic. "People in Germany noticed what is happening in the Hearts club and I am glad that I will be able to meet with George Burley (team coach - author's note) and see his plans."
The experienced forward has played for clubs such as
"George Burley asked me to train with the team, and in the next few days should decide what I can offer," said the forward. "I am in good athletic shape and I can still score goals."
The footballer also admitted he had offers from other clubs - "Hearts" is one of my main choices, although I have the opportunity to go to the Far East or Qatar. However, I would prefer to stay in Europe."
