Madrid will have to do without their attacking leader, Brazilian Ronaldo, for about a month, as he suffered a shin injury.

In Saturday's Madrid derby against Atletico, which Real won 3-0 and Ronaldo scored two goals, the Brazilian was carried off the field on a stretcher.

After medical examinations, it was revealed that Ronaldo had torn the tendon in his left shin and he will only return to the field on November 20 for the "El Clasico" match against Barcelona. This means Ronaldo will miss up to six games.

Ronaldo suffered the injury right at the end of the match, when his active play forced Luis Perea to score an own goal.

Another Real player, right-back Michel Salgado, will also be out for about ten days due to an injury he suffered in the city derby. He will miss not only the UEFA Champions League match against Trondheim's Rosenborg, but also the La Liga matches against Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna.
