President Arrigo Sacchi, who is experiencing a financial crisis, recommended the forward of the Spanish superclub "Juventus" Turin, Marca Di Vaio.
Sacchi, who previously worked with the current Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard at AC Milan, suggested Marc Di Vaio as an alternative to the desired French forward David Trezeguet for the Catalans.
Sacchi had to work with Di Vaio when the latter played for Parma and the Italian told Rijkaard that the 27-year-old's speed would be a good boost for the Catalan team.
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced in Italy that next week Juventus officials will meet with Real Madrid leadership to discuss the possible transfer of Fernando Morientes to Italy.
Fernando Morientes is currently on loan to AS Monaco this season, which eliminated the royal club in the Champions League quarterfinals, and Morientes scored two goals in those two matches.
It is said that Juventus' sporting director, Luciano Moggi, and several other team directors will start serious negotiations in Madrid next week for the Spaniard's transfer to Turin. It is believed that Juve will offer 8.6 million euros (about 30 million litas) and 32-year-old defender Lilian Thuram. Given Real's problems in defense, such an option would not seem bad for the royal club.
