On Saturday, the final of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) Cup tournament will take place at the Vilnius "Vėtra" stadium, where Vilnius and defending champions FBK will compete for the title. The spectators will be admitted for free to this match, which will start at 14 o'clock.

The road to the final was not easy for both teams since the quarterfinals. In the round of 16, both teams had no major problems playing against the reserves of their future final opponents: "Kaunas" crushed "Vėtra-2" (4-0 and 8-0), while "Vėtra" defeated "Kauno jėgerius" (4-0 and 0-1).

In the quarterfinals, the Kaunas team faced a serious challenge from Šiauliai "Šiauliai" (1-0 and 1-1), while the Vilnius team managed to beat Marijampolės "Sūduva" thanks to an away goal (1-2 and 1-0). In the semifinals, the country's champions defeated the leaders of the "A Lyga" championship, Panevėžio "Ekrano" players (0-0 and 1-0), while "Vėtra" defeated Klaipėda's "Atlantas" (1-1 and 1-0).

This season in the Lithuanian "A Lyga," "Kaunas" and "Vėtra" played against each other four times. The Kaunas team won three matches, including the one held in the capital on Tuesday (1-0, 3-0, 3-0), while the Vilnius team won one match at the beginning of the season (2-0).

On the eve of the match, the official website of the "A Lyga" asked how the teams are feeling before the LFF Cup final.

"All players, except striker Arkadiusz Klimek, are healthy. A.Klimek, who suffered an injury, has already left for Poland. Let's hope that during today's training, no player will get injured," said "Kaunas" head coach Igoris Pankratjevas.

He stated that the team's goal is to win the LFF Cup: "We will try to fulfill this task, although anything can happen during cup competitions."

"Cup matches are not the same as regular championship matches. The guys understand this, so they will fight with all their might," said "Vėtra" head coach Sergejus Borovskis.

The coach from Belarus said that now all "Vėtra" players are healthy: "Aidas Preikšaitis, who was previously ill, has already started training. However, I am concerned about the players who were recovering from injuries, in terms of their match readiness."

According to the "Vėtra" strategist, the players' morale is good: "If it wasn't good, it should improve before the final. The task is clear - to fight. After the final, it will be clear which team is the best. The most important thing is that everyone is healthy, and we will be able to select the 11 warriors."
