Round 12: Crushing "Lyon" Victory © EuroFootball.com

On Saturday, matches of the 12th round of the "Ligue 1" championship took place in five French stadiums. The remaining five matches will be played on Sunday evening.

Another secure victory was achieved on Saturday by the team of the reigning French champions from the last four years, "Lyon". The club, which has not stumbled at all this season, this time defeated the absolute tournament outsider "Metz" with a score of 4-0 and added to their points total to 30.

"Bordeaux" club, which has been struggling to catch up with the leader, increasingly fails to do so and remains in the second place in the league standings. This time Bordeaux players could not overcome the resistance of the "Toulouse" team and settled for a 1-1 draw, not only increasing their gap from "Lyon" but also losing the second position to Paris "P.S.G" club.

The capital team, in turn, narrowly defeated the "Nancy" team with a score of 1-0 and ended the winning streak that had surprised all football experts. The only goal of the match was scored in the 53rd minute by the increasingly successful Bonaventure Kalou.

In this round, the 4th-placed "Auxerre" team unexpectedly suffered a defeat. Previously successful, Osse players had to admit the superiority of the former team of Edgaras Jankauskas, "Nice", with a score of 1-0.

"Lille" club took advantage of Auxerre's stumble, confidently defeating the struggling "Nantes" footballers 2-0 at home and rising to the 4th position due to a better ratio of goals scored and conceded.
