Yesterday evening, four matches of the tenth round of the English Premier League were played. After them, not a single team in the championship remained without losing points - the leader "Chelsea" left the field for the first time without winning.
Interestingly, the London team was first stopped by the last place team in the standings, Liverpool's "Everton". The match at Goodison Park stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.
The hosts took the lead from the 37th minute, when forward James Beattie converted a penalty kick. The balance was restored at the beginning of the second half with a precise shot from 20 meters by midfielder Frank Lampard. A little later, Didier Drogba sent the ball into the net again, but the referee signaled offside in a doubtful episode and the score remained unchanged.
However, this draw did not affect either of the teams. "Chelsea" continues at the top of the table with 28 points, while "Everton", with only 4 points, remains in the last twentieth place.
In another match, the struggling "Newcastle" team defeated "Sunderland" 3-2. The winning goal was scored in the 63rd minute by Turkish player Emre, who had recently recovered from an injury. Meanwhile, league newcomer "West Ham" defeated the mid-table "Middlesbrough" team 2-1 at home.
