V. Luxemburgo criticizes pre-season "Real" tour © EuroFootball.com

The head coach of Real Madrid, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, publicly criticized the club's management for the preseason tours in Asia and the USA.

"Real Madrid is a football business and those tours were important, but the essence is in how they are organized," said V. Luxemburgo to a Spanish radio station. "I didn't like what we did. You can't fly from one country to another, spending more time on a plane than in training and games."

"Preseason tours should be preparation for the season, not just a way to make money," continued the Brazilian. "Next year, we will do things differently."

The media reports that Real Madrid earned $25 million from the 18-day preseason tour in the USA, Japan, China, and Thailand.

Despite the criticism of the preseason preparation, V. Luxemburgo stated that it will not prevent Real Madrid from triumphing this year.

"We will win the Spanish championship this year," the strategist confidently stated. "We also have great potential to go far in the UEFA Champions League and the King's Cup."

Real Madrid is currently two points behind the leader Getafe in the Spanish championship and occupies the second place. They also should progress further in their UEFA Champions League group, where they currently hold the second position.
