Due to a cruciate ligament injury, Munich striker Roque Santa Cruz may not be able to play for up to six months.
The Paraguayan suffered the injury during Saturday's "Bundesliga" match against the team from Cologne. After examinations, it was revealed that the striker may have to miss almost the entire rest of the season.
"It's unfortunate for both us and him," said Bayern coach Felix Magath upon learning the seriousness of the injury.
In the near future, the 24-year-old striker is expected to travel to the United States for treatment.
This injury is a serious challenge for the young striker, who missed a significant part of last season due to a different knee injury. This season, the Paraguayan had already recovered from a poor previous season and scored three goals in 7 "Bundesliga" matches.
