The Brazilian striker and defender Nano will not represent the Spanish club in this year's UEFA Champions League group stage after suffering injuries in Tuesday's victorious match against London's Chelsea.
The 25-year-old striker R. Oliveira suffered an injury in the middle of the first half after a harsh tackle from Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho. Tests on Wednesday revealed that Oliveira has injured his knee ligament and tendons.
The club's medical staff plans to conduct further tests in the near future, but they will have to wait for the swelling to subside. The club doctors' pessimistic prognosis is that Oliveira may need up to four months to recover.
Defender Nano had left the field even before Oliveira. The Spaniard was diagnosed with strained knee tendons.
"Betis," who have also lost defender Miguel Angel Lozano to injury for a long period, will play their next UEFA Champions League match on November 23 against Liverpool.
