Unsuccessful 14th round of the Italian championship unfolded for Marius Stankevičius and the team "Brescia" - after goals in two consecutive matches, the Lithuanian could not help his team avoid defeat in the encounter with the championship leader "Mantova" and at the end of the match he even received a red card.
Playing as guests, "Brescia" started the match actively, but failed to convert a couple of opportunities to score, and in the second half the home team "Mantova" broke through and scored a goal from eight meters by Gabriele Graziani.
"Brescia" was close to equalizing, but they couldn't manage to do it. The match ended with a victory for the hosts, and at the end of the match the referee showed two red cards - in the 89th minute Emiliano Tarana received a second yellow card, while M. Stankevičius was sent off the field for hitting his opponent with his elbow during injury time.
Thanks to "Mantova", the second-placed "Torino" pulled away from the pursuers by eight points and now has thirteen more points than "Brescia", who fell to ninth place.
In the bottom half of the standings, "Avellino" with Tomas Danilevičius continued to struggle, this time losing 2-0 away to the "Piacenza" club. The Lithuanian legionnaire started the match in the starting lineup and played the full game.
