T. Danilevičius' goal did not save "Avellino" from failure © EuroFootball.com

In the second division by strength, the Serie B, matches of the 15th round took place on Sunday in Italy. Despite the fourth goal of the Lithuanian national team striker Tomas Danilevičius this season, his team "Avellino" failed to avoid defeat, while "Brescia", without Marius Stankevičius, played in a draw.

"Avellino", which did not achieve five consecutive victories, hosted the "Pescara" team, which had won their last match convincingly. The hosts failed to convert several good opportunities into goals and were punished by a long shot from 25 meters by Mario Bonfiglio at the end of the first half.

In the 63rd minute of the second half, "Pescara" increased their lead after a superb shot from 20 meters by Davide Matteini. Trying to save the match, "Avellino" coach Franco Colomba immediately sent T.Danilevičius onto the field, but just a minute later Jadidias secured the victory for the visitors with a precise header.

However, it was not the end, as in the 67th minute after a pass towards the far post, Danilevičius scored with a header and revived at least some hopes for his team. The Lithuanian legionnaire continued to play actively and was very close to scoring his second goal with ten minutes left, but his shot from 20 meters flew just wide of the goal.

That was the last real chance to score, so the match ended that way. After this victory, "Pescara" jumped to 13th place in the standings, while "Avellino", unable to win in six consecutive matches, dropped to 20th and found themselves in the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, the "Brescia" team, which was missing Marius Stankevičius due to red cards received in the previous round, fell behind for most of the match against the "Piacenza" team at home, but at the end, Omar Milanetto scored the equalizer from the penalty spot - for the seventh time this season, "Brescia" played in a draw and slipped to tenth place in the league.
