The president of the Spanish champions Joanas Laporta confirmed to journalists that the team is planning to establish a subsidiary team to play in MLS (Major League Soccer - US championship) in order to increase the club's fan base in the US.
"Barcelona has many plans," said J. Laporta. "One of them is to have a subsidiary team in MLS, but these are just plans for now."
"The characteristics of US football are very different from Spanish football, but we want to play there," said the president of Barcelona. "However, we still haven't fully understood the rules and various conditions."
One team that already has a subsidiary company in MLS is the Mexican team "Chivas" from Guadalajara.
