In the newly released FIFA ranking, the Lithuanian national team lost 10 points and dropped from 97th place to 98th.

Brazil, the World Champions, continues to dominate the ranking with 841 points. The Czech national team moved up to second place after successfully playing the play-off matches for the right to play in next year's World Cup in Germany.

The Netherlands dropped to third place, while Spain, Lithuania's former opponent in the qualifying tournament, moved up two positions to sixth place.

The biggest jump this time was made by the Belarus national team, rising 11 positions - from 70th to 59th.

Lithuania's neighbors Latvians lost 12 points and now occupy 70th place, while the Estonians rose 4 positions and now hold 77th place.
