The president of the leaders of the Spanish championship Jaime Ortis said he was devilishly angry about the decisions made against his team and said that it diminishes their chances of triumphing in the Spanish championship.
Orti said that influential forces in Spain are doing everything to help Madrid win "La Liga" and he said he was completely disappointed with the refereeing in Sunday's match against "Sociedad", which ended in a 2-2 draw.
"Valencia" managed to stay in the first place of the championship after the most productive player of the team, Mist's, scored the equalizing goal at the end of the match, but the president of "Valencia" strongly criticized the referee's decisions and said that some of them were decisive.
Orti said that this was not the first time when "pro-Real" decisions were clearly visible - a clear example was the match between "Valencia" and "Real" in February, when at the end of the match the referee awarded a very questionable penalty kick to Valencia. Real Madrid managed to score and secure a 1-1 draw.
"It was a black day in Spanish football," Orti said. "And I really don't know what else to expect. Thank God - yesterday (Sunday) everyone saw what was happening on the field from the beginning to the end. Everyone saw those unfair referee decisions."
"I am disgusted," said "Valencia" president. "This was not the first time when various ways were tried to take points away from us, but the team always managed to accept it calmly. This season there were many clear unfair decisions - ones that cannot be masked."
"If Baraja hadn't repeated Mist's goal, it wouldn't have been counted," Orti said, referring to the episode of yesterday's match where Mist's shot hit the crossbar clearly crossing the goal line and bounced out of the goal, and Baraja, heading the rebound, sent the ball into the net.
"For our goal to be counted, we have to score twice," Orti fumed.
"I am also very disappointed that an eleven-meter penalty was awarded, which should not have been, although in one episode before that Angulo was clearly brought down in the penalty area, and the referee's whistle remained silent," the Spaniard criticized the unfair referee decisions.
"Valencia" coach Rafa Benitezas said he had decided to remain silent about the referee's decisions, but his anger was clearly visible: "I can only say about the referee that some of his decisions surprised me a lot. I won't comment further on that."
