Former Real Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, revealed that his client received an offer to lead a national team from Asia at next year's World Cup in Germany, but refused to reveal which team it is.
"I cannot currently say what team it is, but I can say that Luxemburgo received an offer to contribute to one of the Asian teams in the upcoming World Cup," Ribeiro said.
When asked about the situation at Real Madrid, Ribeiro claimed that the relationship between the coach and the players was excellent, but the Spanish press put too much pressure on the club's management to dismiss Luxemburgo.
"The pressure from the Spanish media was enormous," Ribeiro said. "Every day in all publications, Luxemburgo was heavily criticized and urged to step down from his position. Ultimately, the situation became too serious and the team was forced to dismiss the coach despite the excellent relationships within the team."
