Club's legionnaire from the Netherlands Boudewijn Zenden will most likely not play this season. The 29-year-old defender will need surgery due to a severe injury to his cruciate ligaments.

As announced in the club's statement, B.Zenden will soon fly to the United States to see the renowned specialist Richard Steadman, who is expected to perform the operation. "Unfortunately, it seems that Bolo will not play this season," announces the website of the strongest European club of last season.

The footballer suffered the injury on November 23 during the UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla. Initially, it was thought that the injury was not serious, but detailed examinations showed that B.Zenden's season ended before it even began.

The left-back, despite fierce competition in this position, was starting to play more and more frequently. On the field, the Dutchman can be replaced in that position by players like Harry Kewell and John Arne Riise.
