On Saturday, two matches were played in the Italian league. Both meetings saw one goal scored and the home teams emerged victorious. "Fiorentina" celebrated a victory against "Treviso", while "Siena" defeated the "Empoli" team.

"Fiorentina" aimed to get back on the winning path after last week's defeat against "Juventus". The match started with the hosts trying to push forward, but the well-organized defense of "Treviso" managed to hold their ground. In the 30th minute, the visitor's defender Alberto Giuliatto brought down "Fiorentina" player Alessandro Gamberini in the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty kick to "Treviso".

However, disappointment soon filled the "Artemio Franchi" stadium as Luca Toni's shot was saved by the visitor's goalkeeper. A few moments later, the home team's forward Giampaolo Pazzini beautifully lifted the ball over the opponent's goalkeeper, but the ball flew just wide.

In the 52nd minute, "Fiorentina" fans could finally rejoice. Giampaolo Pazzini sent a cross to Stefano Fiore, who headed the ball into the goal and put the hosts in the lead. In the 60th minute, "Treviso" had a great chance to equalize when a defensive error from "Fiorentina" allowed the visitor's forward Dino Fava to shoot from a promising position, but his shot went over the crossbar. Thus, "Fiorentina" maintained their lead until the end of the match and celebrated a narrow victory against the league's underdogs.

In the other Saturday match, "Empoli" extended their streak of defeats away from home, losing 1-0 against the "Siena" team. The second-minute goal from the home team's forward Erjon Bogdani was enough for "Siena" to celebrate the victory. All the visitor's attempts to equalize the score were unsuccessful, and the match ended with the home team's victory by a slim margin.
