The head coach of La Coruna, Joaquin Caparros, has extended his contract until 2008, the Spanish club announced on Tuesday.
This summer, J. Caparros signed a one-year contract with "Deportivo", replacing longtime coach Javier Irureta at the helm.
The 50-year-old former "Sevilla" coach has been successfully leading "Deportivo" this season, with only 3 losses out of 15 matches and occupying the fifth place in the Spanish championship.
According to experts, J. Caparros' training methods yield very good results, as the Spaniard is able to integrate young and talented players into the team and revive the careers of experienced players, such as Pedro Munitis in goalkeeping or the center-back Juanma. The results of "Deportivo" this season, which sold the team's leader Alberto Luque in the summer, have impressed the club president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro, who decided to extend the contract with the experienced coach.
