2005 saw fifteen players from Lithuania registered in the Russian "Premier" League. Some of them were regular members of the starting lineup, while others were occasional "guests" on the field. After the championship storm settled down, the football portal EuroFootball.com looks at the season and future possibilities of the legionnaires who played in the neighboring country.

Alania Vladikavkaz: The season in this team began with defenders Darius Žutautas and Nerijus Barasa. N. Barasa later moved to Samara, where he helped the local team stay in the "Premier" League. D. Žutautas played 18 matches in the 2005 Russian championship, spending an average of 90 minutes on the field and receiving four yellow cards. The season was unsuccessful for the team - the former country champion "Alania," had to withdraw from the elite league. The further plans of the Vladikavkaz team are not clear yet, some even say this club may cease to exist.

Krylia Sovetov Samara: This season, two Lithuanian players were registered in this team - defender N. Barasa and forwards Evaldas Raziulis and Robertas Poškus (who moved to Zenit in the middle of the season). N. Barasa played 16 matches in this championship, 12 for "Alania" and 4 for "Krylia Sovetov." He spent an average of 49 minutes on the field. However, injuries hindered him from playing more matches. This season, the passionate player received two red cards.
