On the weekend, the matches of the 19th round of the French football championship "Ligue 1" were played, after which the tension in the fight for the second place increased - now only 3 points separate the 9th place from the second.
As we reported earlier, on Friday the current champion and current leader of the championship, "Lyon", unexpectedly suffered their first defeat this season. They had to admit the superiority of the visiting team "Lille" with a score of 1-3 at home.
However, this failure of "Lyon" was not taken advantage of by almost no one from their former club. The "Auxerre" team, which had stepped into the second place before this round, also had to admit the opponents' superiority, losing with a minimum result of 0-1 to "Nancy".
The fourth-placed "P.S.G" club also did not win, playing a 1-1 draw with the tournament's outsider "Ajaccio". After this match, there were public talks about a possible change in the coaching staff of the capital team.
The "Lens" team achieved a great victory in this round, beating "Le Mans" club 2-0 at home and recording their 7th victory this year. After this victory, "Lens" rose to the second place in the tournament table with 32 points.
The same number of points is held by the "Bordeaux" club, which, due to a worse goal difference, dropped one position lower after ending the round match with "Nantes" in a 0-0 draw.
Continuing to climb successfully in the tournament table is the "Monaco" club. Finally, the knights' team players seem to have found their game this weekend, defeating the "Toulouse" team, albeit by a minimum score, but still, they won with a score of 1-0 and now hold the 5th place with 31 points.
