Strengthens the attackers. The successful Premier League debutant who started the season signed a three and a half year contract with Israel's national team and Haifa's Maccabi team attacker Yaniv Katan.
The 24-year-old striker still had to get permission to work in the UK and successfully pass a medical examination. The Jew will arrive in the new team immediately after the new year, when clubs will again be able to register new players.
"We are very pleased to have acquired Y. Katan," said West Ham coach Alan Pardew. "We hope he will become an important part of the team. For West Ham, it was a great opportunity to acquire a high-class player that we could not miss."
Y. Katan's contract with his native Maccabi team, where he started his professional career at 17, was valid until next summer. It is still unclear whether the Israeli club will receive monetary compensation for the player.
